Hello, and thanks for stopping by. I’ve decided to get the ball rolling on my new website, to have an online pole dancing competition right off the bat, as I finish working on all my tutorial’s, (which is all coming together BEAUTIFULLY), and then just getting things posted and ready, you can enter the competition in the meantime, and still have some fun here at I- pole! It will be alot of fun, and everyone, and anyone, is eligible to join in, and participate in the festivities.
Online competitions were an idea I came up with, after always wishing there was something out there for me to participate in, and in the comfort of my very own home, but unfortunately there is not. Soo, of course I am not eligible to participate in these competitions that I will be hosting, but I will have fun none the less, and play a role in the judging process. Be CERTAIN, there will NO favoritism, I’m very fair, and do not discriminate again anyone due to any friendships, size, race, clothing choices, music selection, the country you are from…..I’m a fair and impartial person, that is a definite guarantee from me to you all in advance, so you know, everyone has a fair and EQUAL shot of winning in this competition.
I was for 3 yrs, a judge for professional infant and children’s contests, owner of my own for some time, and so I know all about the judging process, and i have a friend, an ex dancer, who agreed to help me with the judging as well. It will be based on a points system, and there will be 3 winners for a beginner category, and 3 for advanced, so we can cater to all dancers out there, and make it even more fair.
Beginners, can do basic inverts, but anything above and beyond, a simple basic invert, like invert combos that I deem advanced, will push you into the advanced competition. I will make that call for you, by viewing your entry, and your you tube site if applicable, to decide which you will best fit into, if you are uncertain yourself, upon entering. No worries there, a proper decision will be made.
Beginners do not need to invert at all, advanced dancers will be required to invert, and to add at least 1 ariel combo to their performance. beginners must include at least 1 spin combo, and I urge advanced students to also add that into their routines. your dance will include spins, transitions, holds, and actual pole moves. floorwork is a nice touch but not a requirement for this competition, being that some entrants may own a small stage w/ a pole, and hence don’t have the luxury to add any floorwork, so that choice is yours.
Dance and flow into movements is considered in overall judging of course. Unique style, is your individual trademark, and won’t be judged against someone else’s style in any way, each overall routine is judged on it’s own for all for all of these details (spins, combos, fluidity, tricks, transitions, quality of your moves, not so much about quanitity, as the overall quality, is most important in ALL categories.)
Performances must be performed on a static pole. that may change in the future, but right now, more people have access to a standard static pole, then spinning, so I thought it more fair at this time, to make it a static competition, but like I said, that may change come the next ipole competition. The entrants must be fair to others, who may not be blessed enough to have two poles to play on, so entries must be done on one static pole ONLY! Thanks! It’s most fair this way!
Entrants can be any age, OVER the age of 18..no exceptions. Dress can be casual, shoes are not required, tank tops, and shorts are just fine, you can choose to dance in pants if you wish, though not recommended due to lack of grip, but are allowed. Obviously no nudity will be tolerated. Sexy outfits and costumes are fine, but will NOT gain you extra points in this competition. this is NOT a beauty contest and therefore attire will not factor in to your overall score. No thongs allowed, scrunch butt booty shorts are ok. Use good judgement, of course:)
As for music, anything goes, fast and hard, or soft and slow, that is all up to you, but must not contain any vulgar language, such as curse words, degrating words, i need not mention here..(damn is acceptable), because these entries will POSSIBLY, (We’ll take a vote on that, since some people might prefer to keep their own entries private, or enter last minute), soo, they MAY, be appearing on my site also, based on the ‘vote’, so, keeping it as wholesome as possible, is a goal here, just use your own judgement there.
Music choices are a personal choice, and not factored into the judging process based on if I like the song or not, that makes no difference, this is a completely fair impartial contest that holds nothing against people who chose certain music I might like, or wear certain clothing, I might think is cute, if you know what I mean. it’s an un bias completion thru and thru. You are allowed to wear a costume if you wish, but it also will not score points in judging. Not everyone has access to elaborate things such as that, and it would not be fair.
Your routine will be between 3-5 minutes in length. Edits are not encouraged, but I know phones ring, a baby can cry, and stuff does happen, so I’m allowing one edit per entry. Sometimes especially beginners, might get winded easily, and could use that edit. Keep in mind though, its preferable to not use the edit, it will not affect your score, so keep that in mind, in case your trying 1,000 times to get it right, and just can’t do it all the way thru, that you do have that option, to make life easier on you, but like I said the limit is 1 edit per entry. More then 1 edit will cause a 1/2 point deduction, so try to just use 1 edit when possible.
There will be 4 winners to also make it more fair, 2 from the beginner category (amateur) and 2 from the advanced category (’more’ professional). Each TOP winner (meaning the #1 in the beginner section and #1 winner, in advanced), will share 1/2 of ALL the entry fee monies accumulated, from the ENTIRE competetion.., which hopefully will be a lot of loot, the more people that enter, the bigger the prize. This money will be deposited into their paypal accounts after the winner’s are announced. Plus a printable, color, winner’s certificate for framing your achievement! The runner ups, the 1st runner up for beginner and 1st for advanced, will receive 1 free month of I-POLE video tutorial lessons, a value of $13 each, or $50 off a lifetime membership to this site, PLUS a printable winner’s certificate for framing as well. The 2nd runner’s up in both categories, will receive 50% off, 1 month of lessons, or $30 off a yearly membership, + each will also get a printable certificate, to frame, and show off to friends!
The fee for entry is a $8 per person via paypal ($6 special ON NOW!!!) *sign up is fast and easy & FREE*. Limit is 1 entry per person. entrants will upload their videos to youtube, label them ‘I POLE ONLINE POLE DANCE CONTEST’, you will email me with the link to your entry, and I will then put them onto this site to gain maximum exposure, depending on the vote, as mentioned earlier. I was thinking about a public vote contest, however not at this time, because men might be prone to pick their favorite dancers, or the ones dressed the most skimpy and that would not be fair to the entrants, remember like ive said numerous times, this is not a beauty contest, or a hot body contest, everything is based on the elements and execution of the routine itself, and NOTHING more. Follow the rules, and you have as much of a chance as anyone of winning a title.
In the future the contests will include trophies, medals, ribbons, certificates, and perhaps cash even combined in it, if it proves to be a success, but just to introduce you all to the new world of online competitions and get the ball rolling for my site, since I still have a bit more work to go, in the interim, this will be a cash only contest, which who can argue with cash anyhow right? And the free lesson package for the runner’s up +discounts and certificates, as mentioned above.
I plan on having another contest approximately 4-6 months from now.
winners will also be posed in a winners gallery on this website indefinitely, for prestige for your accomplishments, for the world to see, and winners will be announced via youtube, and here on I-pole as well.
You can choose to wear footwear of any kind, or barefoot, that choice is your own.
You must be female to enter, sorry boys, the next contest you guys will be eligible for.
The contest starts will close on 4/31, so get your entries in now. That will give youtubers ample time to choreograph a routine, and choose music, clothing, and just simply to create their winning routines. I find that is enough time to do so, and also new people are finding youtube every day, so it also gives us a chance to round up as many entrants as possible, and thus, prize values will be higher naturally.
I hope this site will help break the stigma of the pole dancing reputation. lets do it together ladies, and good luck with your entries.
Depending on the amount of them, judging should be commensed and winners announced a week after the deadline, possibly a bit more if the turnout is a lot, and the contest will close on April 31st, 2009 at 12pm EST (USA), SO MAKE SURE TO not wait until the very last minute if you are not familiar with USA time zones, cause in other countries the time of day will be different, so keep that in mind when sendin over your entry, or entry link.
This should be really fun, so I look forward to seeing all of the incredible entries, do not be intimidated, everyone has a chance to win and become our 1st ipole.tv contest winners.
$6 (US) entry fee— send payments to: Contact@ipole.tv,
AND GOOD LUCK!

Shelly
